About Julie

Julie has a wealth of experience and knowledge spanning over 35 years, working in the NHS and private practice within a variety of settings

In 1995 Julie worked in Australia offering support to war veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It was during this time that Julie became more interested in psychological approaches to care.

On returning to the UK, Julie worked as community psychiatric nurse registering as a specialist practitioner in community mental health nursing. Julie completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the University of East Anglia and is accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).

Julie is also a fully trained EMDR therapist.

Julie uses four evidence based therapies as part of her personalised approach:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
  • Mindfulness
